Experiencing puzzling health issues?

These Early Warning Signs are the ones that women in IUD Support Groups identify as the beginning of their problems.

Several of them can happen in the course of daily life, but if the number or intensity of the things listed here are increasing since getting an IUD, then it might be time to really pay attention and consider removal.

Listen to what your body is trying to tell you.

IUDawareness.com is a resource for anyone who wants to know more about the risks and potential side effects associated with IUD use and is also intended to be a hub for finding out about all the various educational efforts that have been made over the past 40+ years of IUD use.

Because of the often one-sided and minimized warnings given by health professionals, government agencies & manufacturers, people experiencing IUD symptoms have taken to online groups, blogs, bulletin boards and Facebook Pages to discover or confirm that their health problems are indeed related to their IUDs, to try to figure out why their bodies are reacting so negatively to IUD use, to share their stories so others can be adequately informed and also to figure out how they can support the healing and recovering process.

IUD Side Effects Support Group

The IUD Side Effects Support Group is for those who:

  • have had side effects to an IUD;

  • feel like they might currently be having adverse reactions and looking for answers;

  • currently have an IUD and want to inform themselves further;

  • are considering getting an IUD for either birth control or other health reasons and want to be informed of the risks and side effects through the personal experience of other people rather than solely information from clinicians & manufacturers

Please note the support group is primarily made up of women who have been harmed by one or more forms of IUDs and is not the place to find pro-IUD information, which is prevalent elsewhere. We are here to help and support each other cope with our health issues resulting from these devices, however, we are not doctors or professionals and only advise and support from person experience, not professional medical training.

While it is not directly about IUD's, it does deal with a lot of parallel issues regarding the medical device industry in the United States.

With the release of this important film in the summer of 2019,

"In THE BLEEDING EDGE, Academy Award nominated filmmakers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering (THE INVISIBLE WAR, THE HUNTING GROUND) turn their sights on the $400 billion medical device industry, examining lax regulations, corporate cover-ups, and profit driven incentives that put patients at risk daily. Weaving emotionally powerful stories of people whose lives have been irrevocably harmed, the film asks: what life-saving technologies may actually be killing us?"
