My story is kind of long, but I had Mirena placed after having my son who is now 11. I had two of them during those 11 years and my new Dr recommended Paragard because it was hormone free. I’m on year three of that now. I’ve literally not had a regular period for the past three years and during that time I contracted Covid. My Dr was perplexed thinking every symptom I was showing was long term Covid, until it was suggested it could be my IUD. I’ve had these symptoms as follows, heavy bleeding, no bleeding, pain during sex, no sex drive, dizziness, fainting, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, can’t sleep, night sweats, debilitating back pain, sciatic pain, shortness of breath, anxiety, depression, lack of interest, lack of motivation, hair loss, I used to ride 10 miles at most on my horses, I don’t even care to tack them up now, all I want to do is sleep, I used to be ocd on house cleaning and it takes me days just to clean my kitchen, irritated, short temper, brain fog, hair loss and the list goes on. I’m to the point where I feel like a hypochondriac, or need to be put in a mental institution. I never thought in a million years I could actually be suffering from copper poisoning until I sat down with my wellness physicians wife yesterday and talked to her about everything I’m experiencing. She too had almost all the same symptoms. They went into remove her paragard and it broke off inside her that they couldn’t retrieve it in the clinic and she had to have an emergency hysterectomy in order for them to get it all out. I need to have peace of mind that I’m not going crazy and this is what is wrong with me. I’ve never been the person to be lazy. I went from a fit 135 lbs 5’6” 45 year old to no muscle tone 115 lbs in three years. I’m unhappy all the time. And along with my husband and families support I will be having it removed.
